That was considered good manners in places like this.
By 4:17 in the morning, the champagne was warm, heels getting lost, and someone had cried in the bathroom hard enough to ruin a perfectly decent eyeliner.
Outside, the city was already preparing itself for morning.
Inside, they remained magnificent a little longer.
